Frito-Lay recalls potato chips over undeclared allergen

Frito-Lay said Monday in an announcement that they are recalling potato chips over an undeclared allergen.

In the announcement on the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) website, Frito-Lay said their recall centers around “undeclared milk” in Lay’s Classic Potato Chips bags that are labeled 13 ounces.

“Those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product,” the announcement reads.

The recall affects select chip bags dispersed in retail stores and e-commerce distributors beginning last month in Oregon and Washington, per Frito-Lay.

“No allergic reactions related to this matter have been reported to date,” the company said.

Frito-Lay also told people to dispose of the bags in the case that they have a milk allergy or sensitivity.
