The Switch Up — Activists say AIDS-free generation on the horizon

The World Health Organization established World AIDS Day on Dec. 1, 1988. Thousands were contracting HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. Since the first AIDS case was reported in 1981, some 25 million people have died from the disease.

On this episode of The Switch Up, activists explain how they are working to educate communities on HIV and AIDS, end the stigma associated with the illness and address the growing racial disparities around the disease.  

Their ultimate goal? To create an HIV/AIDS-free generation.
